Holmes then reveals that he is once again angry with his brother because the gang that wanted Mycroft dead have since all been murdered so he could come out of hiding, but he has not contacted Sherlock.
Eventually Holmes' meets Alfredo and tells him he has given Alfedo's brother the money he needs and told him what he thought of him and then forgiven him, and he has decided to get in contact with Mycroft. Upon further investigation Holmes and Watson discover an undercover operation inside the company in attempt to catch a gang involved in illegal tobacco dealings, but Holmes and Watson soon discover the under cover agents were pocketing the money missing from the books, and before they can be questioned they end up murdering each other. Eventually Holmes and Watson find out the secretary of the head of the tobacco company had murdered the lawyer as she too was pocketing money from the under cover operation. Meanwhile Holmes investigates claims by his father that it is Moriarty who is trying to kill him. Eventually Holmes confirms his father's suspicions and is able to get into contact with Moriarty via a proxy. Holmes then informs his father he will not help him kill Moriarty but has arranged a stalemate with her, as if she kills his father he will take over as the head of Moriarty's former criminal network, and in return Morland Holmes will not attempt to assassinate Moriarty, while he has assured Moriarty he suspects his father will die of old age in the near future.
Morland then tells Sherlock that one day he will have to deal with Moriarty and what he has agreed to means he won't be there to help him.
